We worked with Disney+ Hotstar to translate movie titles into Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, focusing on maintaining linguistic accuracy and visual harmony to resonate with regional audiences across India.
To engage the multilingual Indian audience, Disney+ Hotstar needed to promote movies with dubs in regional languages through localized posters. The major challenge was creating multilingual typography for movie titles originally in English, transforming them into Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu while retaining the original essence.
The typography had to adapt to regional nuances, and the movie posters’ visual identity needed to match the film’s genre. Brucira collaborated with Sudeep Gandhi and Manish Patil to ensure accurate typography and vectorization.
We created distinctive, iconic movie titles by sketching them out in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, adhering closely to each language’s script rules.
To ensure optical consistency and avoid a mechanical feel, we carefully studied the strokes and axes of each title. The basic strokes were then adapted into letterforms, capturing the essence of the original titles while maintaining visual harmony across all three languages.

We were tasked with recreating 28 movie posters for Marvel, Pixar, and Disney films, including major titles like Avengers: Civil War, Frozen, and Aladdin. These multilingual posters would provide regional audiences access to international content in their preferred language.

First, the movie titles were accurately translated into the desired Indian language. There could be no errors at this stage. We started with a brief discussion call with the founding team at Disney+ Hotstar to understand the requirement, collate their vision and mission and align with the same.
Next, we keenly explored the aesthetics of the language — Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu which each had different linguistic sensibilities and needed to be expressed accordingly.
Each film title had different sets of characters — understanding & designing them correctly was both visually as well as linguistically important.

We meticulously perfected light angles during vectorization. For regional Indian languages, each letter has unique lengths, accents, angles, and strokes. These elements needed to be accurately replicated to preserve the script’s authentic structure and flow.

Brucira recreated 28 multilingual movie posters in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil for Disney+ Hotstar, bridging regional audiences with international content. This effort expanded the platform’s viewer base by making global cinema more accessible in their preferred languages.
